Three Television Spots Highlight Grand Rapids Appearance

IMG_8005Temperatures outside may have been below freezing. But spirits ran high inside DeVos Place in Grand Rapids, Mich., during the three-day Remodeling and New Homes Show, one of the better organized home shows in the country.

Attendance at my seminars was strong thanks in part to three pre-show television appearances, orchestrated by the show’s crack publicist. I visited studios to shoot morning show interviews with the ABC (click here to see it) and FOX affiliates (click here to see it). NBC’s morning show anchor came to the show floor on opening day to investigate the exhibit. (click here to see that one.)

Unlike many home shows that feature exhibits touting a wide variety of home products, this show focuses on big-ticket projects. It attracts exhibitors who build new homes and do big remodeling jobs. Attendees came looking for information about trends that could influence their construction plans.
